11/30/2008 – How much do you use for a 5 gal.batch?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Usage: 1/4 oz for 5 gallons of wine, or 1/2 oz per 5 gallons of beer. Make a slurry with water, add to wine or beer. Rack and/or filter after 5 to 7 days.Be CERTAIN that all fermentation has completed, or the addition of polyclar can actually cause renewed (vigorous) fermentation.
3/6/2008 – I typically chill my secondary fermenters in my keg cooler for a couple of days (40 deg F) to bring out any chill haze and settle out the last of the yeast, then keg through a .5 micron filter. MOST of the haze filters out but the beer is not crystal clear. How (when) would I use polyclar to get the last of the haze out?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: After fermentation, when you chill your beer. Allow about a week for the last of the sediment to fall out before kegging.

1/13/2004 – I use isinglas as a clarifier. I still have some haze. Can I use polyclar as well, at a later time in the process, and remove some more haze?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I haven't done it myself, but I don't see why not.
8/3/2003 – What is "Polyclar?" How do you use it and what is it made from?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Polyclar is actually a very finely ground plastic, that has an electrical charge. The charge attracts proteins etc that can cause haze to form. Usually, it is used a week or two before bottling.
