12/7/2009 – What are the exact dimensions of the funnel? I am interested in the diameter of the spout specifically.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The spout is 15/16" in diameter x 4" long. The long side of the actual angled part raises 7" above the cone, while the short side of the angle is only 1.5" above the top of the cone.
6/24/2009 – WOW! Amazing response time! Kudos to whomever replied...and an excellent reply at that.However...sorry about last question...I didn't review before posting.I will be siphoning my beer from primary to secondary fermentor, will using the FILTER be ok? or should I only use the filter prior to bottling?I guess I'm concerned the filter . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Sure, you can siphon thru the filter, but it's unlikely that you will pick up much. Maybe a few stray hops, and a little protein residue. Again, not much. Same thing when bottling. Give it a try and see. I once did this with a coffee filter, and found it wasn't worth the effort. I even used a commercial plate filter, and found it wasn't worth . . .
6/24/2009 – I have this funnel/filter and would like to know if it's best use it when transferring beer from primary to secondary fermentor or just prior to bottling? or both?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I would have to say neither. It good to pour your beer thru a funnel prior to fermentation because the splashing helps to oxygenate your wort. The yeast cells "need" oxygen at this stage to get off to a good start.Pouring AFTER fermentation, like from primary to secondary, or from secondary to a bottling bucket introduces oxygen which . . .

3/15/2005 – I would like to filter hops, fruit etc. while I siphon into my fermenter. Would any of your screens work well when attached to a siphon hose? Do you have any other suggestions outside of a tapped kettle connected to a bazooka screen?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The real problem will be getting the stuff thru your siphon hose. If you are willing to pour the wort:In our Brewing Accessories category we have a variety of straining bags that might well serve this purpose. There are also funnels with straining screens that can be used.
10/15/2003 – What is the diameter fo the angled brewing funnel.
