1/17/2013 – Is this tubing silicone or PVC?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: It's vinyl (PVC)
11/23/2010 – I am a first time brewer and I am looking at equipment. i would like to use the 24" racking cane with the 3/8" hose and the 3/8" inch bottle filler. Are these parts compatible?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We like to use the 5/16" hose between the racking cane and the bottle filler. It's a tight fit, but the hose stretches somewhat and that is what you want. The 3/8" hose will work, but sometimes it will let a little air in, and you can lose your siphon that way.
5/17/2010 – what is your phone number?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We can be reached at (425) 355-8865Our toll free order number is (800) 850-2739
3/30/2009 – Is this clear hose tubing a special food grade tubing or is it just a standard tubing? Hate to run my beer through the wrong tubing.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: It's just common vinyl tubing, which is fine for food applications like beer and wine.
7/14/2008 – i plan on using this for a blowoff tube and i was wondering if the hole in the middle of the stoppers fits this tube?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, it will work just fine. It's a tight fit, but just push it thru as far as you can, and it will be good enough.
7/3/2008 – how do you order more than a foot
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Just change the quantity from 1 to 3, for instance if you want to order 3 feet.
6/28/2008 – how do you order more than 1 foot of hose
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Just change the quantity from "1" to whatever you need. It is sold per foot.
2/21/2008 – My question is regarding the stopper that you offer with you carboys and fermenters. Specifically, what size tubing should I purchase to use as a blow off to fit these?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The 5/16" ID tubing works well. A tight fit, but it goes in.
1/26/2008 – I live about an hour (if traffic is good) from the address on your website. Do you have an actual store or is everything here based solely online?

12/8/2005 – I am new to wine making and one of the most frustrating problems is racking it. I started with gallon jugs and that wasn't too bad, but I have moved up to using a 6 gallon carboy, and my hand pump system with a tee is not working very well, and it takes quite a while to siphon. My question is which method works the best from your experience? . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: That sounds like an AWFUL system. You need this product, the Auto-Sipon. Here is a link to it:This is a HUGE improvement over what you are doing. Also get about 4 feet of 5/16" ID tubing, and a Bottle Filler:
3/15/2005 – I would like to filter hops, fruit etc. while I siphon into my fermenter. Would any of your screens work well when attached to a siphon hose? Do you have any other suggestions outside of a tapped kettle connected to a bazooka screen?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The real problem will be getting the stuff thru your siphon hose. If you are willing to pour the wort:In our Brewing Accessories category we have a variety of straining bags that might well serve this purpose. There are also funnels with straining screens that can be used.
9/22/2004 – Okay, do you have to be able to perform magic in order to get the inside of a siphon hose dry? I know that if you don't keep your siphon hose clean it is the most likely to develop bacteria. Which in turn can do your body some damage, what my friends and I like to call, "screaming Apache butt piss." I clean my siphon hose exceptionally well . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Well...the only time this hose has to be sanitary is just before you use it. A little moisture, as long as it's clean, shouldn't be an issue. Before use, however, it makes sense to run a little sanitizer thru the tubing so that it is clean AND sanitized. After using, give it a rinse and forget it. Mornings with the wife should be reserved . . .
12/15/2003 – What diameter of tubing fits the racking cane?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The 5/16" ID tubing is recommended, and provides a very tight fit. 3/8" can also be used if you want to remove it regularly.
9/25/2003 – What size hose does this thing require and if I buy the siphon starter do they fit together or do I need more hose or couplings?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: It can be put onto either the 5/16" ID or the 3/8" ID hoses.
