7/6/2009 – what's the difference between the 16 Oz, Wire Top bottles and the 16 Oz. E-Z Cap Bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Good question. We sometimes get messed up on terminology ourselves. E-Z Cap is a trademarked (brand name) bottle. It is my understanding that Wire Top bottles are not made by the same company, and thus have a "generic" name. Confused? Me too.Functionally they work exactly the same.

9/25/2006 – I am starting to collect bottles from around town. I heard rumor from a friend that if I used a clear bottle I needed to do something additional to the beer, but then from another I heard that was for green bottles.Does is matter the color of glass bottle used in brewing? If so, what is the best glass color. And what additional work does . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Clear and green bottles allow harmful light rays to affect the beer. If you keep your beer away from intense light, especially sunlight and florescent lights, it's not an issue.Brown beer bottles are the best, without a doubt.
10/6/2005 – Are the e-z caps porcelain or plastic?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: They are plastic. Ceramic tops haven't been available for some time.
2/6/2005 – I have a lot of Fischer e z cap bottles, which have been in storage for a few years, some have traces of dried water / beer in them. How can I clean these, or would you recommend starting off with new bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Those are nice bottles. We recommend soaking them overnight in Super Grunge Remover. Here is a link to that product:Follow that with rinsing and sanitizing with Iodophor. If any of the gaskets are cracked, we have replacements.
2/1/2005 – Where can I buy the hops to brew the beer? I live in Plainview, Texas....would love to brew my own. But, I need the ingredients to brew it. will buy your equipment, so....where can I buy the goodies to brew it?

11/28/2004 – Are these bottles thick glass? I'm looking for thick glass bottles so I can make some batches of soda in them without an explosion. Thanks.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, these bottles work nicely for soda pops.
11/6/2004 – I have a few questions on the Grolsh bottles. Do I need to change the rubber gasket everytime I bottle? When I sanitize the bottle, do I need to take apart the wire from the bottle to clean the entire cap assembly? And finally, I noticed the wires go into the holes on the bottle, does this ever cause a problem with air entering? . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, there is no need to replace the gaskets until they show signs of wear (cuts, or they don't seal properly). No, there is no need to take them apart. No, the wires go into "dead end" holes (not all the way through the bottle), and do not cause leakage, or air entering.
8/21/2004 – The normal EZ-Cap bottle has decorations formed into the bottle making labeling difficult. Are yours smooth-sided?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The 16 oz bottles have the decorations (raised sides), but the 1-liter bottles have smooth sides.

Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not clear cappable bottles, no. We do have clear E-Z Cap bottles, however (the type with flip-top, gasketed closures).
