1/26/2008 – I live about an hour (if traffic is good) from the address on your website. Do you have an actual store or is everything here based solely online?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, we have an actual brick-and-mortar store in Everett, WA. People actually walk in and buy stuff! Our address is:Homebrew Heaven9121 Evergreen WayEverett, WA 98204Heck, you can actually call us on the phone, too! It's 425-355-8865. A person will actually answer as long as it's business hours!
9/18/2007 – Will this hose fit properly into the lid of the 6 gallon plastic primary fermentor that came with the deluxe brew kit?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not unless you drill a bigger hole. If you are looking to create a blow-off tube, just use a #2 rubber stopper, and shove a length of 5/16" id siphon hose into the stopper hole. Works just fine.
4/24/2006 – What do you suggest using to clean out a blowoff tube of this diameter (1")? More specifically, is there a brush of some sort that would work well?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We do indeed have a long blowoff tube brush available; it's just not on the website. Call (800) 850-2739 to order.
11/11/2005 – My 1" blowoff tube turned cloudy after using super grunge. After cleaning,it still smells like a beer funnel from my youger beer swilling days. Will this be clean enough for my next batch or do I have to keep replacing it?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, it should be fine. Super Grunge is a cleaner, however, not a sanitizer...you should also sanitize with something like iodophor before using it.
3/15/2005 – I would like to filter hops, fruit etc. while I siphon into my fermenter. Would any of your screens work well when attached to a siphon hose? Do you have any other suggestions outside of a tapped kettle connected to a bazooka screen?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The real problem will be getting the stuff thru your siphon hose. If you are willing to pour the wort:In our Brewing Accessories category we have a variety of straining bags that might well serve this purpose. There are also funnels with straining screens that can be used.
1/25/2004 – So, would you use this instead of an airlock?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, it can be used that way. Stick opne end into the carboy (it's a tight fit) and the other end into a coffee can of water, and you've created a huge airlock. Useful for extremely active fermentations. ALmost impossible to clog it!
