2/13/2013 -- Could you tell me how long I can keep whirlfloc tablets?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: A VERY long time (years?), and long as they don't get wet.

Response From Homebrew Heaven: We can be reached at (425) 355-8865
Our toll free order is (800) 850-2739
12/1/2009 -- Is there a down side to using Irish Moss? I know haze isn
t necessarily a problem, just an appearance thing. Just curious if using IM can create any problems with fermentation. I predominantly make ales as I am not set up yet for largers.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I've never heard of IM being a problem. It simply causes certain proteins to attach themselve to it, and fall to the bottom. This results in a clearer beer.
4/16/2008 -- If I'm doing a belgian wit beer and looking for a suspended yeast would I still use a clarifier tablet?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Probably not, altho the type of yeast used will be a bigger factor in whether/not it remains suspended.
The clarifier tablet causes more than just yeast to drop to the bottom. It also causes proteins and other compounds that cause sediment.
My advice: Use a good quality Wyeast liquid yeast culture for an authentic wit. One with low flocculation will cause more yeast to be suspended in the final brew.
1/26/2008 -- I live about an hour (if traffic is good) from the address on your website. Do you have an actual store or is everything here based solely online?

4/24/2007 -- when brewing dark beers (porters/stouts) how necessary is it to have a clear beer? by omitting your tablets or irish moss is my beer going to taste any worse? Is this done for appearence only?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not really necessary at all. There will be no difference in taste, just in appearance.
11/5/2006 -- I live in Seattle, can I come and pick up the bottles in Everett? Do you have a "brick and mortar" store?

Take a look around!
1/2/2006 -- If you miss adding Irish Moss to the boil, is there a product that can be added during or after fermentation that would produce similar results to the end-of-boil addition of Irish Moss?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, actually, a few. Each are a little different in how they are used, and effectiveness. A few are:
1) Super-Kleer (2-part wine fining)
2) Isinglass
3) Polyclar
4) gelatin
Even without using irish moss, your beer won't necessarily be cloudy. IM reduces haze, is all.
3/4/2005 -- do you use one tablet per 5 gallon batch or the whole pack?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: One tablet per 5 gallon batch.
10/21/2003 -- How does one use this product? Is there a prescribed technique?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Just like irish moss. Throw it in 15 minutes before the end of the boil.
