There are three parts to the Zork, the plasticstopper (or plunger as the Zork folks put it) that fits inside thebottle, an inner metal foil that keeps oxygen out of the wine, andan outer plastic cap that fits around the neck of the bottle. Toopen a bottle, you peel a plastic tab at the base of the closure.It unwinds until you get to the top of the bottle. Then, you simplypull the cap/stopper with a twist and you hear a nice pop as thebottle is opened.

We do NOT recommend boiling your corks to sanitize them. If you feel you need to sanitize them, use a mild solution of potassium metabisulfite and then allow to dry before insertion. The #9 cork has a nominal diameter of 24mm (0.945") and is considered the standard for wine bottles. It makes a very tight fit in a standard wine bottle. We recommend inserting the corks dry.

While these sleeves do add decoration to the wine bottle, they alsohave a couple of other practical functions. They help eliminate thegrowth of mold and bacteria on the outward exposed surface of thecork during storage. And, they also help keep the cork in place,should it decide to push out of the bottle. They can be applied to a wine bottle very easily byplacing them over the wine bottle's neck and then dipping them intoboiling water for a second or two.
