8/3/2009 -- What is the proper method of using this product to filter my spirits? Do I put the charcoal in a metal strainer atop a metal funnel going into a bottle, or what? Is there an accessory on your site I need to purchase in order to properly use this charcoal? Thanks.

11/5/2007 -- Hello, I made a batch of ~20% Alcotec alcobase. It was supposed to be ~5 gallons of water with ~8 kilograms of sugar, as per the directions on the package. I let it ferment for actually about 9 days then went to use the liquorquick carbon snake with granular activated carbon. It doesn't filter off hardly any yeast and it comes out grey. I've tried washing the carbon 2 times and tried running warm . . .

5/30/2007 -- How do you check the proof of the distilled finished product so that you know it is safe to drink?

2/7/2007 -- Is it safe and effective to use standard wood charcoal instead of activated charcoal. The method would be to fill a container with the alcohol and charcoal and let it soak for 2-3 days. After soaking the alcohol would be filtered to remove residual charcoal.
