Ask a Question
9/9/2012 -- Approximately how many caps are in a pound?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: From 160 to 200 caps per pound.
8/16/2012 -- Will the bottle caps that come with this kit work on screw top beer bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We can't guarentee it. Screw top bottles are typically thinner, and designer for screw caps. We recommend recappable (pry off) beer bottles only. Some people use screw top bottles, but occasionally they don't seal. Too disappointing to be worth it!
9/13/2011 -- If I provide you with a Fedex account number, will you ship me bottlecaps using that account?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, we can do that; but we do charge a $5 fee for the extra time/work involved in changing the billing.
7/29/2011 -- How many bottle caps are in a pound?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Approximately 210 caps are in 1 pound.
5/3/2011 -- How much is shipping for one pound of caps to 73401?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Actually, we have a $15 minimum order so you would have to order more than one pound. Shipping for 3 lbs of caps to Oklahoma by Fedex Ground would run about $10.67
2/10/2011 -- I would like to place an order for your bottle caps. Is there an estimated date that you will have more colors in stock?
Thank you,
Tonya
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We now have a good supply of colors!
12/31/2010 -- Do your bottlecaps have the plastic liner? If so, how would I remove them?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, our caps have plastic liners. That is what makes them seal!
For crafting purposes, however we're told that boiling for at least 5 minutes will help, then use tweezers to remove the liners.
12/11/2010 -- Will these caps work on screw top beer bottles? Do you have screw top caps for screw top beer bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry. These caps won't work with screw top beer bottles.
Screw caps for beer bottles require using specialized equipment beyond what most home brewers want to use. We recommend using the pry-off type (recappable) bottles for home brewing. Those bottles are easily capped with our crimp type cappers.
11/19/2010 -- how many bottle caps are there per pound?
Thanks
Tonya
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Approximately 210 caps are in 1 pound.
5/17/2010 -- what is your phone number?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We can be reached at (425) 355-8865
Our toll free order is (800) 850-2739
11/24/2009 -- Any idea when you will have more silver caps available??
Response From Homebrew Heaven: They are available NOW! Sorry for the inconvenience.
11/6/2009 -- I am needing bottle caps for a craft. I need the inside of the cap to measure 1", is this the standard size? Or are the ones I am needing "Large"? I would love, love, love to have mixed colors, and also one batch of Silver.
http://homebrewheaven.com/
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Open up a botle of beer.
That is the size!
10/8/2009 -- I see in your reply to another question you offer red, blue, gree, silver, gold and black bottlecaps. Not all the colors are included in the drop down list to order. How do I oder these other colors?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I guess the quick answer is that you can't...yet. We are currently out of several colors, but should have them in soon. Check back in about a week or so.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
8/27/2009 -- Is it correct to assume that the colored bottle caps that you carry are lead free/food grade?
How many colors can you get from your supplier?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, they are lead free and food grade.
The colors available are red, green, blue, silver, gold and black. You can select any of those on our website, or we can provide mixed caps.
8/20/2009 -- If I order mixed bottle caps can I specify a mix of black, red, and silver, or is that too much of a pain in the a**! Thanks
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Sure, you can do it. Just specify that in the "Customer Comments" section when you check out.
7/29/2009 -- I'm looking to make some hard apple cider. What yeast would you recommend and what is the best way to carbonate in small batches?
Cheers!
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The one here (Nottingham Ale Yeast) works well. The is also a liquid yeast culture from Wyeast that is specifically for ciders.
As far as cabonating, use about 1 cup of corn sugar per 5 gallons. Bottle into strong beer bottles and cap them.
6/10/2009 -- Im trying to find some heavy, unthreaded glass 12 oz. bottles for my root beer brewing...Do you have any idea where I can find them?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Sure, from us!
Here is a link to that product:
http://store.homebrewheaven.com/Product57
6/9/2009 -- i was wondering when u mix colors do u normally do a few of each are how does that work?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: When a customer asks for mixed colors, we simply grab a handfull or so of each color we have, until we rach the weight ordered.
1/27/2009 -- Do you have purple or maroon colored metal bottle caps?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry. Just what is shown on the website.
We NEVER see yellow, white, or pink ones either, for that matter.
10/2/2008 -- I am a repeat shopper here at HH, and was wondering if you could tell me where to find some bottlecaps that will fit a 750ml Champagne bottle? The standard beer cap won't work.
Thanks, Jon
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Hi Jon.
First off, are SURE the standard cap won't fit? We've found that a bench capper will apply them, but due to the curve of the neck area, a double-handled "wing" type capper can't grip it properly, and won't do the job. Only the bench capper will do it.
There are probably several different styles of champagne bottles out there . . .
7/16/2008 -- we purchased black bottle caps from you a few months ago and wondered if you were going to be getting them back in soon?
Pam Hunter
The Ribbon Retreat (purchasing)
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We out of silver, gold, red, and black caps until the first week or two of August. Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll put them back on the web as soon as we get them in!
4/30/2008 -- Hi! I'm a crafter looking for "small" or "mini" caps. I call my one inch bottlecaps "regular size", so I'm looking for 1/2 inch or so bottlecaps for crafting. Thanks for your reply.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Nope. We have nothing like that. Sorry.
1/28/2008 -- When it comes to plain bottle caps (not the oxy caps) what's the best way to sanitize - boiling?... vodka?... Idophor?...
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Boiling is a BAD idea. It can damage the seals. Vodka is too good for THAT purpose. It's for drinking!
Iodophor is ideal. Easy, quick, and inexpensive. I wouldn't use anything else.
1/26/2008 -- I live about an hour (if traffic is good) from the address on your website. Do you have an actual store or is everything here based solely online?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, we have an actual brick-and-mortar store in Everett, WA. People actually walk in and buy stuff!
Our address is:
Homebrew Heaven
9109 Evergreen Way
Everett, WA 98204
Here is a video of our shop:

Heck, you can actually call us on the phone, too! It's 425-355-8865. A person will . . .
12/8/2007 -- My husband and I would like to start brewing our own beer. We already have the complete wine kit so what extra things will I need to purchase to make the beer? Thanks!
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not much, aside from the beer ingredients. Starting with one of our Homebrew Heaven ingredient kis is a good way to go. The instructions in the recipe kit will get you going.
There are two important differences between making wine and making beer. 1) You will need to boil your beer. This will require a pot to cook your beer in. 2) You'll . . .
11/24/2007 -- I'd like to buy one pound of as many colors as possible (one pound per color). Can I order that?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, you can order one pound of each color. No problem. Simply add a color to your cart, choose another color and add to your cart, and so on...
9/18/2007 -- Do you have silver or white bottle caps?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not white, but we should have silver in a few days...
8/21/2007 -- DO YOUR SODA BOTTLE CAPS HAVE CORK OR PLASTIC? I PREFER CORK
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The liners, I presume? They are plastic. Haven't seen cork in years. Doubt if they are available anywhere...
8/3/2007 -- I wish I could tell you I'm using these caps for my beer but I have 6-1/2 oz Dr. Pepper bottles.. are all caps alike...same ones fit on DP bottles as well as beer.???
rookie needs to know...
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Probably the same yes. I wouldn't vouch for some, however, like European bottles etc. There are LOTS of bottles made in the world, so I wouldn't want to declare that our caps fit ALL bottles...
7/26/2007 -- Hi. Are the underside of the bottle caps all gold or do they match the color on the outside ie: silver/silver, red/red, etc.?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, they do not match the color on the outside. They are plain gold/gray.
7/7/2007 -- Any chance of getting other colors such as white, yellow, or orange?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We've been trying, but no luck so far...
4/14/2007 -- Your item description says you have silver caps but when I tried order them they weren't listed. Do you still have those?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, we normally do have silver bottle caps. We are currently out, is all. They are on order, and should arrive sometime next week.
1/12/2007 -- I am getting ready to make my first kit which I got from you (West Coast Blonde Ale). In anticipating bottling is there a big difference in plastic versus glass? I'm refering specifically to the 25 oz plastic bottle on your site - seems like a good size and easy with twist tops. Shipping would be very reasonable comparatively also. Are . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Very little difference at all. Maybe for LONG term storage glass is better, but hey...who does that? I prefer to drink my beer than to look at it.
Yes, they are re-usable.
12/28/2006 -- I saw you had silver as a color option earlier in the month of Dec. Are you just out of that color for now? or have you discontinued it all together?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We normally DO have them, we are just out for now. It may be a couple of weeks before more arrive.
12/16/2006 -- Hey when are you getting more red caps??? I'm gonna need a few hundred. Please let me know if you have them on order.
Thanks
Janelle
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We now have them back in stock~!
11/11/2006 -- Are the inside of your gold bottlecaps also a gold color?
Thank you for your time.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, plastic liner is typically gray.
11/5/2006 -- I live in Seattle, can I come and pick up the bottles in Everett? Do you have a "brick and mortar" store?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: You sure can. It is literally made of bricks and mortar, in South Everett. Our address is:

425-355-8865
Hours are 10-6:30 M-F

Take a look around!
11/4/2006 -- Do you sell crimped crowns with cork on the inside? If so, could you give me a price for an order of about 1,000 to 5.000, or tell me where I might find this information.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry. Haven't seen caps with cork on the inside in probably 20 years. I doubt if they are made anymore.
11/4/2006 -- Hi,
What happened to the stars and stripes bottle caps?
Bill
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Good question. For now, all we have is the Stars, no stripes...
If that will work for you, just put a note in the "Customer Comments" section at checkout, and we'll make it happen!
9/2/2006 -- HOW MANY CAPS ARE IN A POUND?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: It varies with the caps, but figure 170-210 as an average.
8/29/2006 -- Last week I noticed you had a mixture of colored bottle caps available for ordering. It looks like now this is no longer listed. Do you still offer a mix as opposed to picking one color? If so, is it random or an even mixture of colors?
Thanks,
Julie Medina
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, we stopped offering them as mixed. Sorry.
3/17/2006 -- Will these caps fit the old 12 oz coca-cola bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I'm pretty sure they will, yes.
1/23/2006 -- Do your bottle caps have anything printed underneath? or are they plain where the plastic liner is?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, they are plain on the underside.
10/16/2005 -- If I send you a logo can you print it on a bottle cap? If yes, what are minimums. If no, do you know where I can get this done?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry. No, sorry.
9/1/2005 -- can you use twist off bottles for your bach of brew?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: You really should use the pry off type bottles. The bottles themselves are stronger, and better suited to homebrew.
Our caps and cappers are all the pry-off type. Twist-off caps and bottles require specialized equipment that is not practical (or desirable) for home use.
7/30/2005 -- I see in your question and answer section that you have added bottle cap colors in the past (red for instance). Do you expect to add other colors to your bottle cap supply in the near future?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: When we can get them, yes. There are only certain colors available, however.
7/30/2005 -- Someone mentioned they purchased black caps from here, but I don't see that color as an option on the ordering page. Is it still available?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We often have black colored caps, but we are out of them right now. It may be 3-4 weeks before we get more in.
7/29/2005 -- Can I get caps without the plastic lining on the inside?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry. They ALL have plastic liners. That's what make them seal.
6/14/2005 -- I want to purchase bottle caps to make necklaces that require pictures to be glued to the inside of the bottle cap. Can your bottle caps be used for this purpose?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, we sell TONS of them to "crafters" for that purpose; and lots of others...windchimes, trivets, greeting cards, scrapbooking, you name it.
5/19/2005 -- Do these caps fit the old quart soda bottles that had cork inside? We want to make home made root beer and need caps for our bottles. We do have a capper.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Probably. We don't sell them (the bottles), so I can't verify that. There may be some different sizes out there.
Most home soda pop making now is done with plastic soda pop bottles, like the kind you buy at the store, with screw off caps. The 2-liter size is very common, and if you are buying soda now, just clean them up and use them for . . .
5/19/2005 -- Years ago we made and bottled Hires Root beer using cleaned soda pop bottles. Want to try it again. Your caps fit soda bottles as well as beer bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: If you mean GLASS pop bottles, then yes, probably. We don't sell them, so I can't verify that.

4/30/2005 -- I'm one of those crafters looking for bottle caps. I see that you have the gold with the oxygen seal, are they a shine gold or a mat gold? Do you have them without the special seal?
I saw someone wanted some that were flattened. I like your hammer response, but that wouldn't quite work. For your future crafters asking such a question . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The oxy caps are more of a bronze color, not gold, with a metallic finish. No, they only come in oxy liners. No different to look at, it's just that they have a special chemical to absorb oxygen.
Point on flattening noted....we stand corrected. We just don't know what a Sizzix machine is. We're brewers!
3/28/2005 -- Do you offer white caps? I am looking for marroon, white, black and gold. I see you have gold and black but how about the other two? Thank you!
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No; sorry.
3/19/2005 -- Exactly what material is the bottle cap made from (aluminum, steel, etc...)?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: They are made of steel.
3/9/2005 -- I am looking for a variety of colors do you have any more coming? such as yellow, purple, pink, orange. if you can get these colors please let me know.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: There was a time when we carried bottle caps...plain and simple, and they were all gold in color. Beer brewers didn't care WHAT color they used. We were delighted when we could offer 3-4 different colors, and now were up to about 8. Just a little history...now the "crafters and scrappers" buy most of our caps.
In answer to your question . . .
1/27/2005 -- Are these caps crimped(been put through a crimping machine)?
Or uncrimped? Thanks!
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Uncrimped. They are normally crimped when installed onto the bottles.
1/19/2005 -- Approximately how many bottle caps come in a 1 pound package?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: About 200, give or take.
11/17/2004 -- Do you have red bottle caps? What other colors can you get??

Response From Homebrew Heaven: We have the caps, in various colors. Customize away!
9/10/2004 -- I am looking for flattened bottle caps , Do you sell them or can you tell me where I might be able to purchase them?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No. We sell new caps for capping bottles.
Perhaps what you need is a hammer!
7/18/2004 -- Can I purchase a mixed bag of caps?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, we have now added a "mixed colors" option for this item.
6/27/2004 -- Do you sell uncrowned caps?....I mean the metal disk of the cap. do you sell this?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: These have no "crowns", so to speak. They are called crown caps becauase they are manufactured by Crown Distributing. They are plain metallic caps or different colors.
5/24/2004 -- I am looking for pastel colors for my caps...any way I can get pastel purple, pink, or blue?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry. I have never seen those colors offered.
11/25/2003 -- What color are the inside of these caps? And what metal are they made of?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I would call it a silver color, and they have a clear plastic liner. The material is steel (they are magnetic).
11/10/2003 -- Can these caps be used on the newer pry off type bottles sold now? I notice they are not made from glass as thick as the old bottles I grew up with. Will they hold up to the pressure of my bench capper?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes. No problem.
10/28/2003 -- Can you custom print your caps? If so, what would the pricing be for 1 or 2 colors?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, sorry.
6/30/2003 -- Can these caps be used on standard screw-off type beer bottles? Like the kind you get when you buy beer in the grocery store? If not, do you offer a screw-off type beer cap?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We don't recommend screw-off bottles for two reasons:
First the caps MAY seal, and they may NOT, using these bottles. Some people use them anyway, but occasionally they get a bad seal.
Second, screw-off bottles are often thinner (not as strong) as pry-off type bottles, and you run a small risk of damage.
Pry-off bottles are not that . . .
