3/18/2011 -- Two questions:
1. Is it ok to wash bottles in the dishwasher, and then use the sainatisazer that came with my kit?
2. I now has a laundry sink where I will be brewing. But I ordered the outdoor wort chiller can I get an adaptor and small hose for the sink?
Thanks! Great site!
Response From Homebrew Heaven: 1) It's OK, but run them thru twice...once with soap, once without. Diswasher soap has sufectants in it that will kill the head on your beer.
2) Yes, we have those items. See links below

4/13/2010 -- I ordered the 7.5 Gallon Stainless Brewpot with installed stainless spigot. What diameter hose do I need to attach to spigot and does it have a barbed fitting?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The spigot kit does not come with a barbed fitting on the outlet side. We can certainly add one to your order, however, as well as the hose if you like. Please respond ASAP if you do.
We have both stainless steel and brass barbed fittings that screw into the spigot. See product links below. Each barbed fitting has either a 3/8" or a 1/2" . . .
7/21/2009 -- I've gotta say, i love your site, whoever is the webmaster/designer deserves a pat on the back.
(1) If i was to just buy a 3 gallon bottle (the kind you buy at a grocery store to dispense water at home) would i have to worry about flavors from one batch carrying over to another batch?
(2) What size stopper do the one gallon jugs take? . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Thank you. We work hard on our website, and it's nice to hear that it shows!
1) Probably not. As long as it's food grade, it should be good unless you decide to make pickles in it or something silly like that. We can't speak for all plastic water jugs, of course. 3 gallons isn't very big, either. With the foaming that occurs during fermentation . . .
6/18/2008 -- Hello, I recently switched to kegging and love it! The only problem I run into now is bottling my beer to pass out. Since I don't have any tube thick enough to fit over my faucet I poured beer into a pitcher and then used the bottle filling wand to fill the bottles. When my friends tasted the beer they said it was great, however it had gone . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: There are a few tricks to transfering your beer to bottles, while maintaining good carbonation:
1) get the beer as cold as possible to reduce foaming
2) get the bottles as cold as possible. Same reason.
3) fill from the bottom of the bottle up. Same reason.
4) quickly cap the bottles immediately after filling them

2/7/2007 -- Can these be used for temps up to 200 degrees?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: It can be done, but over time it will degrade. It is inexpensive, however, so replacing it is not a big problem.
1/22/2006 -- Is 3/8 the size that comes with the original kit??
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No; it is 5/16" ID
12/13/2005 -- Can these hoses theoretically be used to direct the outflow of 95% ethanol into a collection vat, or will they dissolve?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No, this tubing would dissolve. Sorry. This is vinyl material for siphoning beer and wine only.
