8/24/2012 -- Can these beer bottles handle champagne? Is the bottle thickness the same as traditional sparkling wine bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, they will work just fine. They are designed to hold internal pressure (like champagne/sparkling wine bottles). Not sure of the exact wall thickness, but we've never had a problem with using them in this way.
8/16/2012 -- Will the bottle caps that come with this kit work on screw top beer bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We can't guarentee it. Screw top bottles are typically thinner, and designer for screw caps. We recommend recappable (pry off) beer bottles only. Some people use screw top bottles, but occasionally they don't seal. Too disappointing to be worth it!
6/11/2012 -- I just purchased your deluxe brewing kit and 3 ingredient kits. I live in Maine and it looks like shipping bottles will be cost prohibitive. Can I use 16oz plastic beer bottles and do you sell them?
Respectfully, Mark Haskell
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, plastic bottles can be used, they just don't look "traditional". As long as your beer is stored out of bright light, I see no probelm.
We do sell them, see link below.
It is often easy to find re-cappable bottles locally, from bars, taverns and recycling places.
Respectfully? Wow. We don't get THAT much!
Enjoy

11/1/2007 -- When re-using bottles, is it okay to rinse them with hot water when they're empty and then store them dry until ready to bottle? When ready to bottle, I'd wash them again with hot soap/water, hot rinse, rinse with sanitizing solution, cold rinse and dry before filling. Is there any limit to how many times a glass bottle should be re-used? . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: That is more than enough! Yes, a quick rinse after using is good. As long as your bottles are not dirty, you can probably bypass the hot soap/water routine, and just sanitize.
With quality glass bottles, there is no limit to how many times they can be (re)used. No worries!
1/12/2007 -- I am getting ready to make my first kit which I got from you (West Coast Blonde Ale). In anticipating bottling is there a big difference in plastic versus glass? I'm refering specifically to the 25 oz plastic bottle on your site - seems like a good size and easy with twist tops. Shipping would be very reasonable comparatively also. Are . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Very little difference at all. Maybe for LONG term storage glass is better, but hey...who does that? I prefer to drink my beer than to look at it.
Yes, they are re-usable.
11/5/2006 -- I live in Seattle, can I come and pick up the bottles in Everett? Do you have a "brick and mortar" store?

Take a look around!
10/23/2006 -- Any idea if the "stubby" 11oz bottles are avaliable? I found Session lager that is brewed in Hood River OR is in the stubbys but they are twist offs.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: I haven't seen pry-off stubbies in at least 25 years, sorry.
10/12/2004 -- Do you know the circumfrence of the 22oz bottles? I am having some labels made for a friend of mine and it is a surprise so I can't ask him! Any info you have would be great!
Response From Homebrew Heaven: The circumference is 9", the diameter is 2.75" or so.
1/20/2004 -- How tall are the 22 Oz. bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: 11 inches.
6/12/2003 -- I was wondering if these particular bottles are twist off caps, or pop off caps?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: These bottle are the pop-off type, NOT twist off. You will need a capper to apply the caps. A standard bottle opener will remove them.
