7/17/2009 -- I am relatively new to brewing, and have a few questions about the swing top bottles.
(1) I really like the look of them, but how well do they seal, and how effective are they (ex) if i don't finish the bottle and have to put it back in the fridge for later?
(2) Also, are they best for storing beer, or can i store some of my other drinks . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: 1) They seal extremely well. After a lot of use, you may have to replace the rubber gasket seals, but I've never had one fail. The second part of that question is different, however. If you re-seal a beer and put it back into the 'fridge, it will lose some carbonation. It has nothing to do with the bottle or seal, it is simply the result of . . .
7/6/2009 -- what's the difference between the 16 Oz, Wire Top bottles and the 16 Oz. E-Z Cap Bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Good question. We sometimes get messed up on terminology ourselves.
E-Z Cap is a trademarked (brand name) bottle. It is my understanding that Wire Top bottles are not made by the same company, and thus have a "generic" name. Confused? Me too.
Functionally they work exactly the same.

3/24/2009 -- I'm looking for a few cases of the Grolsch style bottles (http://store.homebrewheaven.com/shared/StoreFront/product_detail.asp?RowID=1716&CS=hombre&All=)but I need to make sure they are have the glazed ceramic stoppers rather than the newer plastic ones. Please let me know which style you carry. Thank you.
Patrick Corcoran
Response From Homebrew Heaven: These have the plastic lids. I haven't seen ceramic tops available in years.

1/12/2007 -- I am getting ready to make my first kit which I got from you (West Coast Blonde Ale). In anticipating bottling is there a big difference in plastic versus glass? I'm refering specifically to the 25 oz plastic bottle on your site - seems like a good size and easy with twist tops. Shipping would be very reasonable comparatively also. Are . . .
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Very little difference at all. Maybe for LONG term storage glass is better, but hey...who does that? I prefer to drink my beer than to look at it.
Yes, they are re-usable.
