8/16/2012 -- Will the bottle caps that come with this kit work on screw top beer bottles?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We can't guarentee it. Screw top bottles are typically thinner, and designer for screw caps. We recommend recappable (pry off) beer bottles only. Some people use screw top bottles, but occasionally they don't seal. Too disappointing to be worth it!
6/9/2012 -- When I buy this specific kit (Cooper's Unhopped Wheat Malt 3.3 Lb.) What else do I need to purchase (specifically) to make it?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: As far as ingredients, you'll need some additional fermentables, like dry wheat malt extract OR corn sugar, hops, and priming sugar and water. See links below.
You didn't say whether/not you already have the equipment for making beer. If so, that's it.
If you don't have the equipment, then an Equipment Kit is a great way to go. Additionally, a large pot to cook it in and some bottles would be required. Links to some of those products are shown below also.

1/12/2007 -- I am getting ready to make my first kit which I got from you (West Coast Blonde Ale). In anticipating bottling is there a big difference in plastic versus glass? I'm refering specifically to the 25 oz plastic bottle on your site - seems like a good size and easy with twist tops. Shipping would be very reasonable comparatively also. Are they reuseable?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Very little difference at all. Maybe for LONG term storage glass is better, but hey...who does that? I prefer to drink my beer than to look at it.
Yes, they are re-usable.

8/19/2006 -- I am about to bottle my beer and was wondering if there is an alternative to carbonating it besides natural yeast carbonation. I don't want sediment at the bottom, I know the large breweries do it so I know there has to be a way. Do you sell a product or recomment one?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, there is a way, but it requires a kegging system to carbonate your beer. CO2 is forced into solution, to produce the carbonated beer. No re-fermentation, and thus, no sediment.
From there, most people simply dispense from the same keg, but you can bottle your beer as well.

Response From Homebrew Heaven: No we don't. It's just not practical to use them. Capping machines (for screw top bottles) are VERY expensive, and used only for mass production. Also, the twist off bottles are usually a thinner glass, which is not a good thing for beer you are carbonating in the bottle.
8/25/2005 -- I have 7 cases of bottles available for use. They all have labels on them.Do you have blank labels to put over them or will the dishwasher take them off?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: We have blank labels, and labeling software for creating your own, but we recommend removing the existing labels if you want to apply new ones.
Dishwashers typically don't do a very good job at that, but it may work. Try running them thru withOUT the drying cycle (maybe twice). Whether or not they come off depends on the type of label. Be sure to rinse well regardless.
We do sell a product called Super Grunge Remover that does a pretty good job too. To use that, fill a container with hot water, Super Grunge, and sink the bottles into the solution. Let them soak for a day or so, and rinse well. Usually the labels come off easily.
7/27/2005 -- Could you use corks for beer? i've got a wine corker.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: No; the internal pressure will cause the corks to "back out".

Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not that I am aware of, but they are pretty thick. Thicker than your commercial twist off bottles, anyway.
9/14/2004 -- when cleaning bottle after use, is it ok to put them in a dishwasher to remove any residue from the beer. and if not what is the best way to may a time consuming process of cleaning beer bottles easier.
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Yes, that will work, but you should run it thru a second time without soap, or rinse very well after. Dishwasher soap contain anti-spotting agents, which if fine, but they also kill the head on your beer.
7/21/2004 -- What is the reason for bottling in brown bottles vice green or clear?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Green and clear do not block out UV light rays as well as brown. UV reacts with hops to produce mercaptan, the "skunky" smell you get with some beers. If you think about it, you get this most often with beers like Corona, which comes in a clear bottle. You almost never get it from beers that come from a brown bottle.
That said, if you keep your beer in a dark area, it doesn't matter what color the bottle is.

Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not 24 oz, but we do have 22 oz bottles. The go for $11.50 a case (12 bottles).
5/31/2004 -- I am trying to began bottling some soft drinks at home with old family recipes (bottling company closed in the 70s). Do you know where I can find clear glass bottles? I have searched and searched and can't find any. I still plan to buy my caps from you and my capper. Thanks
Response From Homebrew Heaven: Not clear cappable bottles, no. We do have clear E-Z Cap bottles, however (the type with flip-top, gasketed closures).

Response From Homebrew Heaven: Plastic bottles will work, but glass is probably a better choice for long term aging.
6/26/2003 -- i need to buy empty plastic packages for six packs, like those in which coca-cola six packs come in. And also empty carboard boxes in which six packs of beer come in, with a handle. please help

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "plastic packages for six packs". If you mean 6-packs of CANS, then no, sorry, we don't have such a thing. Homebrewers typcially bottle their beer.

Response From Homebrew Heaven: I get 2.6 inches for the widest part.
6/12/2003 -- I was wondering if these particular bottles are twist off caps, or pop off caps?
Response From Homebrew Heaven: These bottle are the pop-off type, NOT twist off. You will need a capper to apply the caps. A standard bottle opener will remove them.
